Strategy Over Trends: Building an Authentic Social Media Presence
Dear Algorithm, I am no longer chasing you...
WRITTEN BYLindsay J. Blair
Your Social Media Doesn't Need Another Trend, It Needs a Strategy
Every year, a new social media "expert" tells us we need another app, another platform, or another way to beat the algorithm. Meanwhile, most small business owners are just trying to remember their Instagram password.
Here's my completely unsolicited opinion for the second half of 2026…
Stop Trying to Out-Post Everyone
Nobody is handing out trophies for posting seven days a week.
Instead, become the business people remember. Tell better stories. Answer your customers' questions. Show your face every now and then. And for the love of Wi-Fi, stop trying to copy every trend that pops up on your feed.
The algorithm is going to change again. It always does.
But trust? Good storytelling? Showing up consistently? Those have never gone out of style.

Marketing Tip
If Instagram disappeared tomorrow, would your customers still know how to find you?
Build an audience, not just a following.
An audience belongs to you, your email list, your community, the people who walk through your door because a friend told them about you. A following belongs to the platform. Platforms come and go. Audiences compound.
The Break Room, Nobody Asked, But…
If you've ever questioned an algorithm, talked to yourself after a client call, or wondered if everyone else has it all figured out… pull up a chair. You're in the right Break Room.

The Big Idea
Your business doesn't need to be everywhere. It needs to be unmistakable somewhere.
An integrated marketing strategy connects the dots between your social media, your email, your events, your community work, and the way you talk about your business in person. When those pieces work together, you stop chasing, and the right people start finding you.
That's what we build at Honey Suite Strategies for nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and small businesses across Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown, the Lehigh Valley, and Pennsylvania.
